Malacca 2016

Managed to visit Malacca for a short 2D1N trip, also my very first time travelling alone (in the bus, lol).
Had a very great tour guide along with me!

Here's some recommendations, if you guys are interested.

Picturesque spot:

Jalan Tukang Besi
Beautiful back alley that reminds me a lot of Ipoh.
You can also spot some small murals around the alley.
My favourite spot for the whole trip!

Just across Jalan Tukang Besi, you'll find the famous colourful wall supposedly sponsored by Kiehl's. Instead of that famous wall, the trees actually attracted me more!

White sand desert in Pantai Klebang.
The white sand dunes that look like desert are actually the materials used for the land reclamation alongside the sea side.
It's actually quite fun to climb up the desert and play around, but the downside is that your shoes will be very dirty, or if you barefoot you can barely feel your soles after that.
Try to park away from the dunes or else you'll have to send your car for the carwash right after that.
No joke!

Another hidden gem that not many know, I suppose.
Sky Tower @ Swiss Garden Hotel.
My friend did tell me this building is relatively new, I even spot an aquaria in the shopping mall, same building! But quite expensive and not that big.

Sky Tower charges a total of RM22+ per visit and they give you complimentary post cards!
The night view and city lights are remarkable, because the tower stands as the tallest building in Malacca, at 43 stories high.
I really liked it because I'm a city light kinda person.
I saw the introduction clip, and the sunset looks really great!

Note: Sky Tower closes at 10 PM so be sure to be slightly earlier than that.
Also, check out Pampas dining, just below the sky observatory deck, if you're too late for the deck already.

To eat:

The Daily Fix

A really great ambience cafe, but usually crowded on weekends. The food also arrive very much later, but I think it's pretty decent, for the amount they charge, which is quite pricey.

The Baboon House

A very famous cafe in Malacca, but take note that they don't open after 6 PM.
This cafe do not allow visitors and customers to take pictures, but I didn't get stopped taking my food so I suppose you just need to pandai-pandai lah.
It's a very special cafe to many, but I don't see the hype.
The burger is good, though. They only sell burgers for food.

I've never eaten grilled vegetables before, but this is so good!
I liked it so much. If it's not because of the filling dinner and beers, I would have eaten so much more. Hahaha.
Get the mushrooms! They're really good.
My friend said they sell it in Jalan Alor too, maybe I'm a jakun, lol
The porridge is okay, a little too salty for me.

Where to stay:

I stayed at River One Residence, and would love to recommend this place for solo travelers, or budget traveler.
Price: RM45/per person per night.
Light breakfast provided, but self-service.
(Biscuits, milo, coffee)

The sharing area overlooks the Malacca river, very peace and calming regardless day or night.
Although the room is small, but clean and tidy as well.
They have plenty of shared bathrooms, clean too!

Till my next travel post, if I'm really hardworking enough :p
