Day Trip to Sungai Lima

This blog post was drafted since months ago, and I only managed to finish it now.
If you have decided to go ahead with travelling locally and cuti-cuti Malaysia, please be sure to wear mask and maintain social distancing okay! We must remember that the pandemic is still ongoing.

I am pretty sure people have heard of Crab Island/ Pulau Ketam, but what about Sungai Lima?
It's actually a small fisherman village located not too far away from Pulau Ketam.

The jetty is the same one as the Pulau Ketam, and so is the ferry.  We recently booked a freelance tour guide that could help us out on understanding the local culture in Sungai Lima, as well as what to do and see during our trip.

I would say it's a very refreshing trip as it's nothing like any of the trip I've been.

To get there, you'd first have to arrive at Jetty Pulau Ketam, parking is charged at RM 10/ entrance.
For more economical transport, you can also board the train moving towards Port Klang, alight at Port Klang and it's only 5 minutes walking distance to the jetty.

Upon reaching, grab the nearest time ferry and you are ready to go!

1. Expenses

Ferry for two ways (RM 18)
Tour guide fees (RM 20)
Seafood Lunch (RM 20)
Tour for Eagle Watching, Aquaculture village, Black Sand Beach (RM 240/ boat) (RM24/pax)

Total ~RM 90/pax

The below pictures were taken in the Aquaculture/Fish farm village
The owners were really nice and they have a lot of dogs but no worries dogs are fat and friendly :D
Blue watch house, my favourite picture out of all for this trip

Fishes jumping around causing huge ripples

We left shortly after having fun in the fish farm, and the boat immediately brought us for eagle watching on the sea, not too far from the fish farm.
Eagle watching!

After the eagle watching we moved to the black sand beach. I didn't take much pictures here.

Some extra eye candy for yall:

3. Tips on Visiting Sungai Lima
  • Apparently most shops are closed on a Sunday
  • They are usually open and welcoming on a Friday/Saturday, so a better option would be picking either these 2 days to visit
  • Please remain polite and well mannered throughout the visit in the village as it's quite peaceful and if you're loud etc you might be disrupting their peace
  • There's NOT MUCH to look around, so I highly recommend you to take the boat tour that has 3 activities (Visit Aquaculture Village, Eagle Watching, Black Sand Beach)
  • There's not much shelter around, so having caps/scarfs/jackets would really help your skin from getting too tanned

Stay safe and stay home as much as you can, guys.
Even after the MCO is lifted, we have to live in a new normal lifestyle, with social distancing and staying away from crowds as much as you can.
Halt all travel activities, because health is everything.

Take care!
xoxo
